Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a simple and solid headlamp mounting assembly which can be manually installed and removed without using tools or special apparatuses.
CONSTITUTION: A headlamp mounting assembly for an automobile includes a mounting support panel 12 forming a part of the automobile and a lamp assembly 10 having a mounting stud 16 extending from a rear wall and penetrating a first opening 30 in the support panel. A locking plate 14 is connected to the mounting support panel on the side of the mounting support panel opposite to the lamp assembly in such a way as to be capable of slipping motion between a first position for preventing removal of the mounting stud from a first opening in the mounting support panel and a second position for allowing the mounting stud to be removed from the first opening, The locking plate is provided with hook means for preventing undesirable slipping motion of the locking plate toward the second position.
