PURPOSE: To ensure a proper operation for preventing the fall of a pallet, even when a chain is broken at any position, and simplify a structure.

CONSTITUTION: A suspension section 2 is provided at four corners of a vehicle loading pallet 1. A chain 4 running vertically along a vertical pillar 3 is connected to the suspension section 2 for hanging the pallet 1. The chain 4 is hoisted or paid out, thereby elevating or lowering the pallet 1. In addition, the pillar 3 is provided with many engagement holes 5 along a vertical direction, and the suspension section 2 is provided with a latch 10 for engagement with the holes 5 to prevent the fall of the pallet 1. Also, a wire 15 in parallel to the chain 4 and capable of vertical travel together with the chain 4 is hooked to the latch 10. In a normal case, the latch 10 is kept at an inoperative position and forcibly turned on the tension of the wire 15 for engagement with the holes 5, upon the break of the chain 4.
