Abstract:
PURPOSE:To sequentially sample current position data of an automobile with predetermined intervals (or distances) and correctly display it on road data comprising collection of lattice-patterned unit section regions. CONSTITUTION:A display position is sequentially approached starting from previous sampling data to the vicinity of current sampling data for unit section. Since retrieval is limited to only a unit section which is in a previous or current direction of the automobile proceeding at this time, a display position according to an actual travel trace of the automobile can be obtained. Since the retrieval is limited in a small unit section region, erroneous road data is not retrieved, and since the actual trace of the automobile is correctly traced, the retrieval may not be out of the road data.
