Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a motor control device for controlling a motor to recognize abnormality of a discharge device attached to a power line connecting an inverter for driving the motor to a battery.SOLUTION: After receiving a discharge command from a motor ECU 40 through a control circuit 64 and turning on a switching element 62, a drive circuit 63 of a discharge device 60, when receiving an overheat protection command from an overheat protection circuit 66 and turning off the switching element 62, retains the turning-off state thereafter. The motor ECU 40, when diagnosis conditions are established and the discharge command is transmitted to the control circuit 64 of the discharge device 60, so that electric currents do not flow to a discharge resistor 61 and the switching element 62, determines that the discharge device 60 is abnormal.
