Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety by securing a field of view of a driver.
SOLUTION: This automobile 20 is provided with an engine 22, a planetary gear mechanism 30 connected to the engine 22, a motor MG1 connected to the planetary gear mechanism 30, a motor MG2 connected to a drive shaft coupled with the planetary gear mechanism 30 and drive wheels 39a, 39b, and a defroster device 50 blowing warm air to a window glass by air blast from a blower 52 via a heat exchanger 53 exchanging heat with cooling water of the engine 22. When the window glass gets fogged and a driver turns on a defroster switch 62 during travel by only power of the motor MG2 with operation of the engine 22 stopped according to turn on operation of a mode switch 61 by the driver, the blower 52 is driven after starting the stopped engine 22 if temperature of outside air is below a predetermined temperature (15°C) and temperature of cooling water of the engine 22 is below a predetermined temperature (65°C).
