Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc wheel compatible with weight lightening and securing space between a brake and the disc wheel.
SOLUTION: The automotive disc wheel, which is composed of a rim 1 and a disc 5 formed of a metal plate, has the outer circumferential flange 5a of the disc 5 bent in two steps. The base portion 5b of the outer circumferential flange 5a is bent so that it may come in contact with a drop inclination surface 3 of the rim 1 with about the same inclination as the drop inclination surface 3. The end 5c of the bent outer circumferential flange 5a is bent outward with about the same inclination as the inner circumferential surface of a bead seat 4 of the rim 1 and fitted to the inner circumferential surface of the bead seat 4 of the rim 1. The rim 1 and the outer circumferential flange 5a are jointed together by welding.
