Abstract:
To provide floor cleaning using a cleaning pad by an autonomous robot.SOLUTION: An autonomous floor cleaning robot 100 comprises: a robot body 102; a control unit supported by the robot body 102; a drive unit supporting the body and moving the robot 100 on a floor surface in response to an instruction from the control unit; and a pad holder being attached to a bottom surface of the body and holding a detachable cleaning pad 120 during an operation of the robot 100. The pad includes a mounting plate and a mounting surface. The mounting plate is mounted on the mounting surface. The robot 100 includes a pad sensor that detects a feature defined by a cutout on the pad, partially on the card backing, and generates a signal based on the feature. The mounting plate allows the pad sensor to detect the feature. The control unit responds to the signal, selects a cleaning mode based on the signal, and executes an operation including control of the robot 100 according to the selected cleaning mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
