Abstract:
To provide a robot autonomously selecting behavior according to an internal state or external environment.SOLUTION: A robot 100 includes a planar touch sensor (a capacitance sensor) 400 for detecting a contact of a user with a body surface. The robot determines comfort/discomfort according to a contact part and contact intensity of the touch sensor. Behavioral characteristics of the robot are changed in response to the determination result. A sense of intimacy to the user coming into contact with the robot is changed according to the comfort/discomfort. The robot has a soft body 104 with a curved shape.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
