Title:
AUXILIARY BEARING FOR MAGNETICALLY SUSPENDED ROTOR SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014231907
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the wear on and the damage to a sleeve and a bushing included in an auxiliary bearing of the sleeve-bushing type.SOLUTION: An assembly includes a shaft (10) supported with respect to a housing (16) by a magnetic bearing (12) and an auxiliary bearing (18). The auxiliary bearing has a first smooth surface (24) provided to the housing and a second smooth surface (23) provided to the rotating shaft (10). In such an assembly, the first smooth surface and the second smooth surface each exhibit symmetry around a longitudinal axis of the shaft but have different profiles in a longitudinal cross-section including the longitudinal axis.
