Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a kinetic energy absorbing amount of a vehicle at deceleration, when using a torque converter as an auxilary braking device.
SOLUTION: A device has a connection/disconnection means 30 mutually connecting/disconnecting an input shaft 3 and a pump impeller 11, switch means 40 able to perform switching to a fixed condition temporarily fixing the pump impeller 11 to a torque converter housing 14 and a rotational condition able to rotate the pump impeller 11 relating to the torque converter housing 14, and a control means respectively switching the connection/disconnection means 30 to a connection condition and the switch means to a rotational condition, in a vehicle running condition, and respectively switching the connection/ disconnection means 30 to a disconnection condition and the switch means 40 to a fixed condition, in a condition performing vehicle deceleration.
