Abstract:

To provide a technology capable of enhancing stability by introducing possibility of changing over a combustion mode from a lean combustion mode where lean mixture gas is combusted into stoichiometric combustion mode to make combustion of a stoichiometric mixture gas in a main chamber in an auxiliary chamber engine, and a technology for increasing an electric power load allowed to be imposed at one time by maintaining the engine in a stable condition in case such the auxiliary chamber engine is used as a drive motive for a power generation system.

A control means 50 changes over a combustion mode between a lean combustion mode in which fuel supply to a pre-chamber 17 is performed and an air-fuel ratio of a new gas I sucked into a main chamber 1 is adjusted into a lean zone higher than a stoichiometric zone able to make spark ignition, and a stoichiometric combustion mode in which fuel supply to the pre-chamber 17 is stopped and the air-fuel ratio of the new gas I sucked into the main chamber 1 is adjusted into the stoichiometric zone.
