PURPOSE: To store external characters and an abbreviation dictionary into an external storage device by collectively storing respective files of external characters and the abbreviation dictionary into the external storage device as an auxiliary function.
CONSTITUTION: A floppy disk or the like is set to an external storage device 15, and main menu data is sent to a display part 4 from a main memory 9 through an information processing part 8 and is displayed on the display part 4. An operator designates 'auxiliary function' and designates and selects 'list generation' from a displayed auxiliary function menu. For example, the abbreviation dictionary is designated and selected from the displayed menu to generate abbreviations, and a floppy disk or a hard disk is selected as the storage device. An execution key is depressed to register and store generated abbreviations.
