To obtain the subject mixture capable of providing a new ink composition having quick-drying property and/or exhibiting excellent printing quality without preventing a printing apparatus by compounding a thioether having bishydroxy terminal with a specific oxycarbon.
This auxiliary solvent mixture does not contain polyoxyethylene or polypropylene copolymer which is not pulverized together with pigment and the solvent mixture contains (A) a thioether having bishydroxy terminal (preferably 2,2'-thiodiethanol) and (B) an oxycarbon of the formula [Ra is H, a halogen, etc.; X is CRb2 (Rb is H, a 1-6C alkyl, etc.); Y is (CRb2)rOz [(r) is 1-6; (z) is 0 or 1]; (u) and (p) is 0-3; (v) is 0-120; (w) is 0 or 1] [preferably a poly(ethylene glycol) having 300-500 molecular weight]. The weight % ratio of the component A to the component B is preferably (45:55 to 55:45).
