To provide an auxiliary tool for mounting a rope clip, by means of which the rope clip can be easily mounted on a wire rope in an appropriate position.

The auxiliary tool includes pushing parts 1 and 2 for pushing a wire rope 11 to a thimble 12, an operation part 3 in which the pushing part 1 is provided on one end part side of the operation part 3, and an operation part 4 in which the pushing part 2 is provided on one end part side of the operation part 4. The pushing part 1 has a recessed groove part for pushing the wire rope 11 disposed on one side of the thimble 12 to the thimble 12 over a prescribed length. The pushing part 2 has a recessed groove part for pushing the wire rope 11 disposed on the other side of the thimble 12 to the thimble 12 over a prescribed length. The groove parts of the pushing parts 1 and 2 are disposed so as to be opposed to each other in the longitudinal direction thereof.
