To provide an axial gap motor and a manufacturing method for a rotor thereof by which a rotor frame and a shaft are fixed firmly together when yokes composed of coiled laminates are fixed to the shaft via the rotor frame.
The rotor 11 of the axial gap motor 10 includes a plurality of main magnets 41, ..., 41 magnetized in a rotating shaft direction and arranged circumferentially at given intervals, a plurality of yokes 42, ..., 42 disposed on both sides in the rotating shaft direction of the main magnets 41, ..., 41 and the rotor frame 30 having a plurality of ribs 31, ..., 31 arranged between main magnets 41, ..., 41 circumferentially adjacent to each other to extend radially and an inner cylinder 32 and an outer cylinder 33 disposed on the inner diameter side and the outer diameter side of the ribs 31, ..., 31. The rotor frame 30 is casted from a die-casting alloy, and a connection face between the inner cylinder 32 of the rotor frame 30 and the shaft 90 has an irregular shape.
