To enhance assembly workability by performing assembly of a cylinder and a spring from not a valve plate side but a swash plate side, in an axial piston machine.
In a motor shaft 17, a motor cylinder 34 is connected by a spline 71, in its radial direction outside, a guide hole 34a is formed, to movably support thereto a pin 84. A front end of a spring 81, arranged in an internal periphery of the motor cylinder 34, is supported thereto, also a rear end is supported to a front end of the pin 84. Further, a front end of a collar member 72, supported to a periphery of the motor shaft 17, is supported to a rear end of the pin 84, also the rear end is supported to an inner case C1 through a ball bearing 21. A front surface of the motor cylinder 34, pressed forward by elastic force of the spring 81, comes into movable contact with an oil pressure distributing surface 27a of a valve plate 27.
