To provide an axial piston pump or a motor capable of connecting a piston with a slipper without hindering smooth movement of the piston and the slipper even when low viscous liquid such as water is used as an operating fluid in the axial piston pump or the motor.

In the axial piston pump or the motor, the slipper 10 has a ball receiving part rotatably supported on the piston ball of the piston 2, and the ball receiving part has a resin layer 23 partitioning a spherical seat interposed between the piston ball 9 and the slipper 10, and a resin ring 18 which is partially cut so as to prevent from dropping out by interposing between the piston ball 9 and the slipper 10, and caulking a metallic part (cylindrical projecting part 10a) of the slipper 10.
