To provide an azaphthalocyanine compound achieving high print density and giving printed matter excellent in image robustness such as ozone resistance.
This azaphthalocyanine compound is expressed by general formula (1). In the general formula (1), rings A1 to A4 each independently represents an electron-attracting group or a benzene ring, pyridine ring or pyrazine ring which may be substituted with a group represented by general formula (V1), provided that at least anyone of rings A1 to A4 is a pyridine ring or pyrazine ring substituted by the electron attractive group, and at least anyone of rings A1 to A4 is a benzene ring substituted by the group represented by general formula (V1); R1 represents H or a monovalent substituent. Also the azaphthalocyanine compound expressed by general formula (1) has at least one ionic hydrophilic group as a substituent.
