Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an azeotropic solvent composition, composed of dichlorotetrafluoropropane and a lower aliphatic alcohol, having low biological toxicity and ozone destroying properties with incombustibility and chemical stability and excellent in selective solubility in waxes, handleability, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The objective composition composed of (A) dichlorotetrafluoropropane consisting of 1,1-dichloro-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropane, 2,2-dichloro-1,1,3,3-tetrafluoropropane, 2,3-dichloro-1,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropane, etc., and (B) a 1-4C aliphatic alcohol, such as methanol, ethanol, isopropanol or tert-butanol. The above-mentioned composition is suitable as a detergent, removing agent, dispersion medium for ceramics or metal powder, water draining drying agent, etc.
