Title:
AZIMUTH DETECTOR WITH AZIMUTH CORRECTING FUNCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03209123
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the azimuth by obtaining the offset of the output of a turning angular speed sensor based on output data of this stopping sensor, and integrating it with the stop time and subtracting the obtained azimuth from the present estimated azimuth of a moving body. CONSTITUTION:A locator 1 counts the number of pulses of the output signal from a wheel speed sensor 41 to obtain the rotational frequency of a wheel, and outputted count output data is multiplied in a multiplier by a prescribed constant indicating the distance per count to calculate covered distance output data per unit time. The relative change of the vehicle azimuth is obtained from a gyro 43, and the azimuth output data of a vehicle is calculated in accordance with this relative change and absolute azimuth output data of a terrestrial magnetism sensor 42. The locator 1 obtains the offset of the gyro 43 for stop of the vehicle and integrates it with the stop time of the vehicle to obtain the azimuth and subtracts this azimuth from the present estimated azimuth of the vehicle to correct azimuth output data of the vehicle. Thus, the azimuth is accurately detected.
