Title:
AZIMUTH METER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3729116
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azimuth meter that is extremely thin but whose sensitivity can be improved.
SOLUTION: In the azimuth meter, two rectangular planar coils that are provided in parallel, and four sets of magnetoresistive element pairs are provided on a plane that is in parallel with the planar coils and is sandwiched by them are provided. Each two magnetoresistive elements are allowed to cross only one side of the coil. Two magnetoresistive elements that cross one set of coil sides that oppose each other compose a magnetoresistive pair. Then, with the two magnetoresistive elements in one set of magnetoresistive element pairs, the longitudinal directions are not parallel each other or are preferably orthogonal. Each one end of two magnetoresistive elements that are located at each magnetoresistive element pair is connected each other, medium potential output is taken out of it, and orientation is obtained based on the output.
