NEW MATERIAL:The compound containing azoxy group and expressed by formula I (R1', R2' and R3' are H, alkyl, alkenyl, halogenated alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, alkylthio, aralkyl which may have 1-3 substituents, aryl which may have 1-3 substituents or heterocyclic residue which may have 1-3 substituents; R1' and R2' may together form an alkylene group; excluding the case that both R2' and R3' are H and R1' is n-butyl).
EXAMPLE: 3-(1-Hexenyl-ONN-azoxy)-2-oxobutane.
USE: Useful as an antimycotic agent. It exhibits antimycotic action against fungi infectious to warm-blooded animals including human (e.g. candida) and fungi infectious to agricultural and horticultural crops and fruit trees (e.g. Pyricuria).
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting an acid to a compound of formula III derived from the compound of formula II, etc.
