Title:
B-ADDED AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3169326
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an austenitic stainless steel having hot workability, particularly, excellent in surface properties to a degree that ear cracking and plunged flaws are eliminated at a high yield.
SOLUTION: Molten steel contg., by weight, 0.1% C, 0.1 to 1.00% Si, 0.10 to 2.00% Mn, 0.05 to 5.0% B, 11.0 to 27.0% Cr, 7.0 to 25.0% Ni and ≤0.3 N and contg., at need, 0.1 to 3.0% Mo is cast in such a manhner that the degree ΔT of superheat at the time of ingot making is regulated to 30 to 130°C. Thus, boride having ≤10μm grain size are dispersedly precipitated into the steel to produce the objective B-added austenitic stainless steel.
