Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the brightness by effectively utilizing the projection light of a light source lamp as back light and to suppress the heat generation of the light source lamp by providing a light guide body which guides the projection light of the light source lamp so that the light can be projected on a display body. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with the semicylindrical light guide body 7 and the projection light projected from the external surface of a fluorescent lamp 1 which faces a light guide plate 2 is made incident on the light guide plate 2 as direct projection light consisting of direct light and light reflected by a reflector 4. Further, projection light projected from the external surface of the fluorescent lamp l which does not face the light guide plate 2 is reflected repeatedly by the light guide 7 and reflector 4 and made incident on the light guide plate 2 as guided projection light. Then the light made incident on the light guide plate 2 is guided equally to the internal surface and top surface of the light guide plate 2 and the surface of the light guide plate 2 which faces a diffusion plate 3 by using the multiple reflection of the reflector 4, and the projection light guided by the light guide plate 2 is scattered by a diffusion plate 3 and projected as scattered light on a liquid crystal panel.
