PURPOSE: To apply beautiful back lining by measuring the pulses from an encoder (measuring an angle of rotation) to know the actual moving quantity of the chain of a tape feed-out mechanism and that of the upper and lower part feed belt of a booklet feed system and controlling the feed starting operation of a tape and the cutting operation thereof corresponding to the moving quantities.
CONSTITUTION: When a booklet 6 is fed and the leading end 6a thereof is detected by a detector 43, an angle-of-rotation measuring means 47 immediately starts the counting of the pulses of an encoder 45 and, when the count value reaches the count number (the set value of an angle of rotation) preliminarily inputted by a setting means 48, a cutter 41 rises to separate and open from a receiving edge 53 and a pressure roller 18 presses a tape 12 to a capstan roller 11 to start the feed of the tape 12. Next, the leading end 6a of the booklet meets with the leading end 12c of the tape 12 but, by adjusting the set value by the setting means 48, both leading ends 6a, 12c coincide perfectly. By this method, the tape 12 is applied to the back of the booklet 6.
