Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back rest of a chair which can shield a fitting part with a back rest support member from outside without impairing fitting workability, and can avoid stress concentration to a part of a back plate, and a chair.SOLUTION: A back plate 11 is overlapped and arranged in a front surface of a back rest support member. Both side edge parts in a width direction of the back rest support member and the back plate 11 are coupled to each other by fitting of a support member side fitting part and a back plate side fitting part. A shield wall 17 which bends from an outer position in a width direction from the back plate side fitting part of the back plate 11 to the back rest support member side is provided. The back plate side fitting part is shield from outside in the width direction by the shield wall 17.
