To provide a back projection type video display device with which an excellent image quality is obtained, whose assemblability is excellent and also which is comparatively inexpensive and is made compact.
A transmission type screen 4 is constituted by applying a reflection preventive coating material incorporating a hard magnetic material to the entire surfaces of a Fresnel lens screen 4a and a lenticular lens screen 4b and sticking them over the entire surfaces by magnetic force. The upper side part 9a of the transmission screen 4 is held and hung by an attaching screw 7 between a screen attaching member 5 and a screen holding member 6 through a protecting tape 10, and a second magnetic material part 15 is arranged at the screen attaching member 5 by separating from left, right and lower side parts by an interstice 16, and it is supported and held in a plate thickness direction between the first sliding supporting part 17 of the screen attaching member 5 and the second sliding supporting part 19 of the screen holding member 6 separated by the interstice of a nearly plate-thickness while integrally extending the transmission type screen 4 outward by attracting force due to the magnetic force between them.
