To provide a background light which has an improved portability.
The background light is provided with a case 2 having a light emitting mouth in a slanting upper direction, power source cords 3a, 4a extracted out of a lower end part 24a of a front surface 24 in a light emitting direction of the case 2 and a holding part 6 to hold the power source cords 3a, 4a. The holding part 6 is extended in a light emitting front direction from the case 2 at a lower position of extracted parts of the power source cords 3a, 4a of the case 2. When a user U holds up the background light 1 from a floor 90a, the holding part 6 prevents the power source cords 3a, 4a from hanging right below the extracted parts and leads the power source cords 3a, 4a toward the extension direction of the holding part 6. Therefore, top ends of the power source cords 3a, 4a and connectors 31a, 41a move upward and at a time of transportation, all the above are prevented from contacting with the floor 90a. As a result, an improved portability can be obtained.
