Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the yield of a whole shift register circuit consisting of a thin film transistor by turning the shift register circuit into a redundant one. CONSTITUTION:A shift register SR row includes the shift registers SRAi-SRZi connected in series, and an SR group consists of plural SR rows and a switch circuit 1-2. Then an optional column of SR rows is defined as the SR rows of a main system with other columns of SR rows defined as the SR rows of a stand-by system respectively. An SR circuit constructs a gate-source drive circuit by connecting plural SR groups in series. A failure detecting terminal 1-1 is prepared for each SR row of both main and stand-by systems of each SR group so that the normal operation of each SR row is confirmed. In such a constitution, the yield and the circuit reliability are improved while the fraction defective of a single SR is maintained as it is.
