Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a bacterial mutant useful in e.g. vaccines against Gram-negative bacterial diseases by mutation treatment of e.g. Salmonella enteritidis; serotype B-typhimurium).
CONSTITUTION: This bacterial mutant, a deletion mutant R-17 (ATCC No.53000), is obtained by ionizing radiation of Salmonella enteritidis; serotype B- typhimurium which is isolated from e.g. horses infected with active diarrhea. The above-mentioned vaccine comprises this bacterial mutant, an immune modulator (endotoxin), and an adjuvant.
