PURPOSE: To obtain the bacterial shock-treating agent containing a spergualin- related compound or its salt as an active ingredient and exhibiting an excellent improving effect against low blood glucose on an endotoxin shock.
CONSTITUTION: The bacterial shock-treating agent contains a compound of formula I [X0 is (CH2)1-6, phenylene capable of being substituted; (a) is 3-7; X1 is (CH2)0-2-CH(R00)-(CH2)0-2-(R00 is H, OH, OCH3, OCH2CH3, CHOH); X2 is NH(CH2)4NH-(CH2)3-NH-R02 (R02 is H, a residue obtained by removing the OH group from the carboxyl group of an amino acid or peptide. The compound of formula I includes compounds of formulas II-TV [X, Y, U are (CH2)1-5, C6H4; r, s, t are 1-7; R6 is residue obtained by removing an H atom from the a-NH2 of an α-amino acid and removing the OH group from α-COOH, a residue obtained by removing an H atom from the ω-NH2 of an ω-amino acid and removing the OH group from the a-COOH ; W, R4 are R02 is R00; m is 0-2; n is 1, 2].
