Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an improved electrolytic cleaning sterilizing solution by which a contact lens can be easily, effectively and quickly cleaned and sterilized and can be installed immediately after cleaning and sterilization without leaving a chemical neutralizer or hydrogen peroxide in the lens or on the lens. CONSTITUTION: In an aqueous solution to be used to electrochemically clean and sterilize an object requiring cleaning and sterilization, an electrolytic cleaning sterilizing method of a contact lens uses an aqueous solution and a solution characterized by being composed of (1) hydrogen peroxide, (2) a mixture of sodium chloride and a salt which is a second ionizable salt and contains metal of an IA group or an IIA group of a periodic table and (3) a buffer solution and optionally, a nonionic surfactant.
