Abstract:
alpha -(4-Biphenylyl)-benzyl-azolium salts of the formula in which A is CH or N, R1 and R2 each independently is hydrogen, alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl, R3 is hydrogen, alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylcarbonyl or phenylcarbonylalkyl, m is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, X each independently is halogen, alkyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, nitro or cyano, n is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, Y each independently is halogen, alkyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, nitro, cyano or phenyl which is optionally substituted by halogen, alkyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, nitro or cyano, and Z is the anion of an inorganic or organic acid, are used to combat fungi.
