Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bacteria removing material which is used to remove bacteria and viruses by making the material from hydroxyl apatite having an average C axis length in a specified range, and an aspect ratio of a given value or more.
SOLUTION: Hydroapatite of 1-1,000μm average C axis length and of 5 or more aspect ratio is used as a bacteria separating material. Since hydroapatite whiskers are synthesized by a hydrothermal process, and since the crystallinity is good, the liquid passing property is good, and the adsorption site of the crystalline surface, since its structure is arranged, has strong adsorption power, a large adsorption capacity, and a good adsorption-separation property. As shown above, bacteria and viruses are adsorbed by an electrochemical action.
