Title:
BAFFLE PARTS FOR MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3585049
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a long life of baffle parts, and enable an air bubble fine formation of processed gas as well as its uniform dispersion to be promoted by a method wherein each of a plurality of cylindrical or column-like ceramic members is arranged in a direction of an outer diameter and their upper end circumferences are integrally formed with a removable fixing means.
CONSTITUTION: A baffle parts 1 in which each of a plurality of cylindrical or column-like ceramic members 2 is arranged in a direction of its outer diameter to form an integral assembly is immersed in molten metal while being spaced apart from a wall of a processing tank and in such a manner that a direction of flow of the molten metal and a wide surface of the baffle parts 1 are crossed to each other. The cylindrical or column like baffle parts 1 arranged to be adjacent from each other may keep their mechanical strength, improve an anti-shock characteristic and further the mechanical shock for a front pressing plate 5 and a rear pressing plate 6 caused by sway of the ceramic members 2 is absorbed by damper material, so that a damage of the ceramic members 2 can be prevented and their long life can be attained. Fine air bubbles are dispersed by a plurality of arcuate surfaces at the surface of the baffle parts.
