Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a valve of enough strength, by fixing a valve stem to a support, securing the support on the body of the valve, fitting the upper part of a main valve body with a minute clearance into the small-diameter part of the support near its lower end and spline-engaging the valve stem and the main valve body with each other. CONSTITUTION:A support 5 is secured on the body 1 of a valve and provided with a small-diameter part 5a near the lower end. A bushing 14 is secured on the small-diameter part 5a by a pin 15. A main valve body 2 is fitted with a minute clearance on the bushing 14 and can be moved up and down by a valve steam 4 coupled to the main valve body by splines. When an auxiliary valve is opened by the minute ascent of the valve stem 4, the pressure of a stem chamber 13 falls but only the main valve element 2 receives external pressure because the support 5 is filled with the valve stem and a bushing 8. Since the main valve body 2 is not structurally restrained by any members, the thickness of the main valve body can be optionally selected for desired strength.
