Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the load-resistance performance of a ball isolator, while a small-diameter ball interposed between a large-diameter ball for support and a ball seat is kept from damage near the top of the small diameter ball, by bringing the load balance of the small diameter ball close to a uniform condition.
SOLUTION: This ball bearing type base isolating device is so designed that a large-diameter ball 3 for support is supported against a ball seat 4 while a number of small-diameter balls 6 that circulate while rolling between them are sandwiched between them, so that transverse relative displacement between the fixed and movable sides is made possible by the rolling movement of the large-diameter ball 3. In this case, a recess 7 is formed in the supporting face 5 of the ball seat 4 opposite to the top of the large-diameter ball 3, and only in the recess 7 are the small-diameter balls 6 separated from the part between the large-diameter ball 3 and the ball seat 4 and allowed to move freely.
