Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a ball-joint device, having a small weight high strength, and capable of being manufactured at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: A ball-joint device 10 is provided with a socket 30 made of thermoplastic synthetic resin, a stud ball 40 having a spherical head 41 to be rotatably fitted to a concave spherical surface 31 of the socket 30 and a housing 12 for housing the socket 30. The housing 12 is provided with a cylindrical socket inserting part 20 formed by drawing a metallic plate, and a bottom wall 21. A plurality of holes 23 are formed in the bottom wall 21. Protrusions 32 capable of being inserted into the holes 23 are provided on the bottom part of the socket 30. The socket 30 is fixed in the housing 12 by caulking the parts where the protrusions 32 are protruded to the outside of the holes 23 in the state where the protrusions 32 are inserted into the holes 23.
