Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the contact surface pressure to the min. by setting the contact position between a spherical body installed at the top edge of a ball rod and a spherical seat formed integrally with a piston to a specific angular range, and to improve abrasion resistance by forming an oil reservoir on the bottom part of the spherical seat.

CONSTITUTION: A spherical body 5 installed at the top edge of a ball rod 3 is inserted into a spherical seat 10 formed through cold forging integrally with a piston 2 and assembled in free turning and swing by caulking the upper-part side-wall 11 of the spherical seat 10. In this case, the contact part (b) between the spherical body 5 and the spherical seat 10 is set within the range of the angle (α) of 45W55° from the axis center CC', having the center O of the spherical body as center. The section shape of the spherical seat 10 is formed from two circular arcs R having the centers O1 and O2 which is obtained by the shift to the same positions (x) and (y) from the center O of the spherical body. Therefore, the contact surface pressure of the spherical body 5 for the spherical seat 10 can be reduced to the min., and since an oil reservoir 12 can be formed on the bottom surface part of the spherical seat 10, lubricity and abrasion resistance can be improved.
