To provide a ball joint capable of exhibiting excellent motional performance over a long period, by restoring excellent rocking and rotary motion of a ball shank to a holder, by eliminating such looseness, even when the looseness is increased between the holder and the ball shank by use with the lapse of time.
This ball joint is composed of the ball shank 1 of arranging a ball part 10 on one end of a shaft part 11, the holder 2 formed by casting with the ball part of this ball shank 1 as a core and wrapping-holding the ball part by a metallic sliding contact surface 24 of transferring a spherical surface of the ball part, a regulating pad 51 installed in the holder and brought into pressure contact with the ball part of the ball shank 1, and a clearance adjusting means 4 adjusting pressure contact force of the regulating pad 51 to such a ball part 10 by optionally advancing-retreating this regulating pad 51 to the ball part 10.
