Abstract:
To provide a ball polishing device that can improve surface roughness of a spherical work-piece without complicating the device.SOLUTION: A ball polishing device 1A is configured so that a spherical work-piece 6 is sandwiched between a polishing body 3 to be rotationally driven and a guide member 4 to be arranged to oppose to an outer periphery part of the polishing body 3 and then rotary motion is applied to the sandwiched spherical work-piece 6 to polish the spherical work-piece 6 with the polishing body 3. The outer periphery part of the polishing body 3 is formed with a screw-like polishing part 3a that is spirally continuous along a rotation shaft line S direction of the polishing body 3 and engages with the spherical work-piece 6. A pair of flange parts 22 for supporting two places separated in a rotation direction Rof the polishing body 3 in the spherical work-piece 6 engaging with the screw-like polishing part 3a are formed in the guide member 4 so as to extend along the rotation shaft line S direction of the polishing body 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
