Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball speed reducer capable of absorbing a radial error between a primary-side ball groove and a secondary-side ball groove and thus suppressing variance in noise, vibration and transmitted torque.SOLUTION: A fixed holding plate 2 incapable of rotating is interposed between a primary rotary body 3 and a secondary rotary body 4. The fixed holding plate 2 has a plurality of radial grooves 17 formed at equal intervals around a center 13, and also has balls 18 accommodated in the respective radial grooves 17 to move radially. A ball 18 engages a primary-side ball groove 20 in an eccentric circular shape of the primary rotary body 3 and also engages a secondary-side ball groove 21 in a corrugated shape of the secondary rotary body 4. The radial grooves 17 are formed to a groove width larger than the diameter of the ball 18 so as to allow the ball 18 to shift and move in a groove width direction. The secondary-side ball groove 21 has its groove width widened at parts corresponding to a mountain and a valley, and also has a plane formed at a groove bottom to the same groove depth so as to enable the ball 18 located at the mountain or valley to shift and move in a radial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
