Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a ball spline which can be produced at a low cost in a large quantity.
CONSTITUTION: This ball spline consists of a spline shaft 1 equipped with a raceway groove 4 and an outer cylinder 2 attached relative-movably on this spline shaft 1. This outer cylinder 2 is provided with an outer cylinder body 3, an end cap 6 formed with a change direction passage 7 attached to both the ends, a side seal 9 attached to a side face of the end cap 6 and a ball 8 rolling between the spline shaft 1 and the outer cylinder body 3 which is composed of an outer cylinder member 11, manufacturable with metal and plastic material, formed with a raceway groove 5 corresponding to the raceway groove 4 and a return passage 10, and a linear member 12 fitted in an inner surface of this outer cylinder member 11.
