Abstract:

To provide a ball type constant velocity joint capable of improving fatigue strength of an inner spline, by reducing stress generated in the inner spline of an inner ring.

A ball type constant velocity joint 10 includes an outer ring 20 having an outer ring ball groove 23, an inner ring 30 having an inner ring ball groove 32, a ball 40 for rolling in the outer ring ball groove 23 and the inner ring ball groove 32, and a retainer 50 arranged between the outer ring 20 and the inner ring 30 and holding the ball 40. The inner spline 33 has a plurality of inner projection teeth 34A, 34C and 34D extending in the axial direction to respective peripheral directional phase ranges positioned inside in the radial direction of the respective inner ring ball grooves 32. The axial directional length K1 of a spot facing 35 of the inner projection tooth 34C positioned in a phase on the anti-torque transmission surface side of the inner ring ball groove 32 out of the inner projection teeth 34A, 34C and 34D, is formed longer than the axial directional length K2 of the spot facing 35 of the inner projection tooth 34A positioned in a phase on the torque transmission surface side of the inner ring ball groove 32.
