To provide a ball valve having excellent sealability and slidability by forming a slidably contact part of a packing with a valve element having large leakage preventive effect and less sliding resistance.
The ball valve comprises a valve element 10 having flow passages 11, 12, a valve case 20 having a valve chamber 21 with the valve element 10 rotatably stored therein, and an inlet 22 and a plurality of outlets 24, 25 formed in the valve case 20. The inlet 22 is communicated with the plurality of outlets 24, 25 via the flow passages by turning the valve element 10. A space between the valve case 20 and the valve element 10 is sealed by a packing 41 mounted on the valve case 20. A valve film layer 10a consisting of Kaniflon A(R) is deposited on the surface of the valve element 10 and a sliding contact part (an elastically contact part) 41a of the packing 41 is thin-walled.
