Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the removal and installation of a strainer, and to surely inhibit the strainer from coming off during opening of a valve while reducing the number of components.
SOLUTION: This ball valve comprises a ball 9 having a through-hole 10 and rotatably interposed between a pair of ball seats 8 fitted in the inner peripheral surfaces of a valve body 1; a strainer 12 having an opening 13 and removably fitted in the opening 13; and a strainer installation and removal hole 15 formed in a side wall of the valve body 1 which is opposed to the opening 13 of the strainer 12 when the valve is closed. The outer diameter of the opening 13 of the strainer 12 is set to be larger than the inner diameter of the ball seats 8 in order to inhibit the strainer 12 from coming off from the through-hole 10 when the valve is opened.
