Abstract:
To enable control of electron focusing/defocusing without provision of a focusing electrode and control of electron emitting angles, and also enable efficient electron emission from a solid object.
In a ballistic electron emission source having a cathode electrode 106 and an anode electrode 107, which are formed across an electron drift layer 104 comprising a nano-crystalline particle 401 and an insulator 402 covering the nano-crystalline particle 401, at least one of the cathode electrode 106 and the anode electrode 107 is disposed in plural numbers.
