To provide a balloon catheter, for preventing the inner wall of a first tube member made of synthetic resin from being damaged even in the case where a second outer tube member made of metal has a low bending rigidity part.
This balloon catheter 2 has the outer tube 6 provided with a first lumen 10 for circulating a fluid formed in the longitudinal direction and a balloon part 4 having an outside diameter larger than the outside diameter of the outer tube 6 in its expanded state. The outer tube 6 has a first outer tube member 6a made of synthetic resin and an outer tube member 6b made of metal joined to the proximal end part of the first outer tube member 6a in the axial direction. The outer tube member 6b has a body part positioned on the proximal end side of the outer tube member 6b and a low bending rigidity part 50a located at the distal end side of the outer tube member 6b and having a relatively low bending rigidity to the bending rigidity of the body part. The balloon catheter 2 further includes a reinforcement tube 30 covering at least a part of the low rigidity part 50a of the second outer tube member 6b.
