The cutting mechanism 10 has a cutting disk 31 rotating around the center, and end-surface cutting edges 34 are arranged on the surface of the cutting disk 31 which serves as the cutting surface. The pressing mechanism 20 presses the end surface of the tip part of the bamboo tree B toward the cutting surface so that the center of the end surface of the tip part coincides with the rotation axis of the cutting disk 31. Since the cross section of the bamboo tree B having a circular cross section is cut while the end-surface cutting edges 34 move in the circumferential direction, the bamboo material crusher A never produces needlelike fiber.
