PURPOSE: To provide a band removing device which can remove a tied band even when the tied objects are bottles or cans, etc., and at the same time, the structure of which is simple, and the number of parts of which is a few.

CONSTITUTION: A band 2 which is tied in the vertical direction around an object to be tied 1 which has a parallelopiped outer shape is cut on the front side surface of the object to be tied 1, and one of the cut ends of the band 2 is pulled out and removed for the band removing device. A pressing roller 6 which can come into contact with and be separated from an upper surface part (1a) of the object to be tied 1 to press the band 2 on the upper surface part (1a), and at the same time, is rotatable in the normal and reverse directions to feed the cut end or the vicinity of the cut end of the band 2 backward or forward is provided. In front of the pressing roller 6, a pair of retracting rollers 7, 8 which pull in the cut end of the band 2 are provided.
